Age breakdown
Measures the breakdown of employee population by age groups.
It is advised to calculate an average age within the company and also have a breakdown by age groups.
This metric can give you insights about
- the population that will retire
- the evolution of payroll costs - if the employee population is aged the odds are you are paying higher salaries than the market median
- family cycles of the employees: individual, couple, full nest 1 (children under 6 years), full nest 2 (dependent children), empty nest - this info is useful as priorities and things considered as important can vary for people in different stages, very useful info for choosing benefits
