Performance at departure
Refers to the breakdown of the total number of leaves by performance score at departure moment.
Calculation steps:
- choose your time frame
- identify the employees who left the company within the time frame
- correlate every employee with their last performance rating score
- divide the number of employees from each rating category by the total number of employees who left in the time frame
- express the values as percentages
This metric is used to evaluate if you have a Brain drain or if the people who leave the company are those that are underperforming.
Example:
Time frame: 1st of January to 31st of March
Leaves: 100 out of which
- 30 employees had the performance rating score 1 (star performer)
- 40 employees had the performance rating score 2 (high performer)
- 20 employees had the performance rating score 3 (meets expectations)
- 10 employees had the performance rating score 4 (needs development)
Departure rate for star performers = 30/100 = 30%
