Performance at departure


Refers to the breakdown of the total number of leaves by performance score at departure moment. 




Calculation steps:

  1. choose your time frame
  2. identify the employees who left the company within the time frame
  3. correlate every employee with their last performance rating score
  4. divide the number of employees from each rating category by the total number of employees who left in the time frame
  5. express the values as percentages


This metric is used to evaluate if you have a Brain drain or if the people who leave the company are those that are underperforming. 


Example:

Time frame: 1st of January to 31st of March

Leaves: 100 out of which

  1. 30 employees had the performance rating score 1 (star performer)
  2. 40 employees had the performance rating score 2 (high performer)
  3. 20 employees had the performance rating score 3 (meets expectations)
  4. 10 employees had the performance rating score 4 (needs development)


Departure rate for star performers = 30/100 = 30%
