Success ratio
Measures the number of employees that during their first year of employment have a performance rating at a minimum of “meets expectations”.
Calculation steps:
- choose time frame
- identify the employees that have a tenure in company below 1 year
- identify the employees that passed through a performance review
- correlate employees with their performance rating
- count the employees that have at least a meet expectation rating
- divide the number of employees with at least a meet expectation rating by the number of employees with tenure below 1 year and a performance rating review
Example:
Time frame: 1st of January - 31st of December
Employees with tenure below 1 year: 140 out of which 100 passed through a performance review:
- 60 employees have a rating of 3 - meets expectations
- 30 employees have a rating of 2 - high performer
- 10 employees have a rating of 4 - needs development
The scale is 1 to 5 where 1 is star performer and 5 is poor performer.
Success ratio = (90 / 100) x 100 = 90%
