Operational vs. strategic time spent
Measures the breakdown of time by percentage of hours spent on operational work and time spent on strategic work.
A quite difficult to track metric.
- define for each position in HR which are the activities considered as operational and which are considered strategic
- ask every employee how much time is spent (roughly) on each task
- make an overall statistic by adding hours for each category in a department total
- express the hours into percentages
It is a very good metric to use to build a case for automation ROI.
