Illness index
It measures the number of illness cases at 1000 employees. Usually includes only illness that caused at least 1 day of leave. The time frame used is one year.
Calculation steps:
- identify the number of illness cases that resulted with at least 1 day of leave
- identify the average number of employees within the time frame
- divide the number of illness cases by the number of employees
- multiply the result with 1000
